Lauren Haverlock is a Senior Manager at Moss Adams and has over 10 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on exempt organizations compliance and consulting. She works with tax exempt organizations on their most pressing issues, including annual compliance, public support planning, reasonable compensation best practices, tax impact of alternative investments, lobbying and political activities, unrelated business income tax planning, foreign activities, charity watchdog optimization, functional expense allocations and tax exempt bonds. Lauren works with organizations in all phases of their lifecycles, from formation to dissolution. She consults on and undertakes the formation of nonprofits with the IRS and state authorities.
Lauren is also an expert in the private foundation area, having co-authored the private foundation course for AICPA. She is able to advise on their most pertinent issues, including tax planning related to alternative and foreign investments, structuring program and mission related investments, charitable giving structuring, transactions with disqualified persons, expenditure responsibility, and distribution planning.
Lauren is an active member of the AICPA Exempt Organization Technical Resource Panel. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach and has a Masters in Science, Taxation at the University of Southern California.
