Tracy Boak is a Partner with Perlman & Perlman, LLP a New York, NY law firm specializing in working with nonprofit organizations. Prior to her current position, Ms. Boak was the Director of the Pennsylvania Department of State’s Bureau of Charitable Organizations where she was responsible for the management of the office that oversees the administration and enforcement of the State’s charitable solicitation law. During her eleven year tenure at the Department of State, she also served as the prosecuting attorney for the Bureau, was Counsel for the Office of Human Resource Management and was a prosecuting attorney for the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. Before joining the Commonwealth in 1999, Ms. Boak was in private practice with a boutique firm in Harrisburg, PA, where she practiced business litigation. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Boak is a former President of the National Association of State Charities Officials (NASCO) and served on the NASCO board for six years. She is member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association, where she serves on the Public Service Network Committee and previously served on the Nonprofit Organization Committee. She is on the board of directors for the Center Against Domestic Violence in Brooklyn, where she serves as secretary, serves on the Advisory Board for her alma mater’s College of Arts and Sciences, is an active member of the New York Junior League and volunteer for the New York Road Runners. Ms. Boak earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Widener University School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
