Melissa Galasso

Melisa F. Galasso, CPA, is a Senior Manager in the Audit Professional Practices Department at Cherry Bekaert LLP. In this role, she assists with technical issues and quality control of the firm’s assurance services practice, serving as the technical liaison to the not-for-profit and government industry groups. She actively develops Continuing Professional Education (CPE) ranging from newsletter articles to webinars and live programs. She monitors regulatory bodies for changes in auditing and accounting guidance and assists the Firm and its clients in implementing the updated guidance. Melisa received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and International Business and a minor in French from Georgetown University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). She is a graduate of the 2014 class of the AICPA’s Leadership Academy and is currently serving on the AICPA's Technical Issues Committee.
