Assistant General Counsel
David is Assistant General Counsel with Verizon Communications where he heads critical legal aspects for the company’s Antitrust and Strategic Projects Group. This encompasses obtaining acquisition approval and collaborating with government agencies and subject matter experts: DoJ, FCC, FTC, economists and others. His present position allows him to form, lead, and motivate top performing teams of up to 350 attorneys through complex deal execution. He continues to give proactive advice on antitrust issues to C-level executives at Verizon and other market leaders, helping to expand business volume and market position. David graduated with BA Degree in Philosophy from University of California in Los Angeles, CA. Later he earned JD Degree from the University of Arizona College of Law, where he interned at the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona (Tucson), US Attorney’s Office for Northern District of California, and the Honorable John L. Coffey at the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. And lastly, he received LL.M. Degree in Trade Regulation from New York University School of Law with a focus on Competition/Antitrust Law and Policy. David is certified as GRC Professional (Governance, Risk Management & Compliance). He has also volunteered as a McLean Little League Coach and with many area charities: Shelter House, Children’s Inn and Woodley House.
